An exercise program or set of healthy nutrition choices are worth nothing if you don’t have the proper mindset to execute them daily.
In fact, I’ll go so far as to say that your brain is the most powerful and influential muscle in your body.
Ever been in a bad mood?
Felt sorry for yourself?
Became so enraged about something you couldn’t control?
Been deeply sad or depressed?
Felt frustrated and annoyed beyond belief?
All of these are states of mind that do NOT help anything when it comes to keeping up with exercise and making healthy nutrition choices.
In fact, when you’re feeling these things, you’re highly likely to offset the emotions by willfully NOT exercising, or making the decision to self-medicate and blow off steam by eating / drinking junk.
See what I mean when I say that mindset is key for success?!
You MUST know how to maintain a balanced mindset most of the time, in order to stay on track toward your goals.
How can you do so?
Give yourself a Mindset Makeover.
This is especially good to do when you’re feeling mad, sad, frustrated, depressed, etc.
And you only need to start with 3 minutes per day.
Do something for 3 minutes that betters your mindset.
Listen to an uplifting song.
Read a quote or mantra… recite it to yourself over and over.
Write down your gratitudes.
Practice deep breathing.
Meditate.
Close your eyes and practice visualization…. Picture yourself in a calm, happy, serene place.
There are so many ideas- these are just a few.
But if you choose 1 that appeals to you, and practice it daily, it will help make huge positive shifts in your mindset.
You’ll learn how to use these techniques as a healthy coping strategy and response to stress.
With time, you’ll deep breathe rather than binge on Oreo’s when someone gets under your skin.
Once you get the 3 minutes down pat…. (after about a month or so)... up it to 5 minutes.
Go ahead- give yourself a Mindset Makeover and take the 1st step toward training the most powerful and influential muscle of your mind.
