Don’t Ignore This In Your Weight Loss Journey

A woman in a black tank top with a focused expression looks up, resting her arms on a barbell in a gym.

There’s something that most people ignore when trying to lose weight…

Something super important that, I would argue, can make or break the long term results.

Have any guesses as to what it is?

Want to be sure YOU aren’t ignoring it… or overlooking it altogether?

Read on….

The thing that most people ignore when trying to lose weight is the mindset work.

The training of the brain…. the strengthening of the mental muscle…

and it’s a HUGE problem!

Why?

Your mindset dictates what actions you take (and which actions you skip)

So, if you’re stressed out, in a bad mood, and you have a shitty mindset, chances are you’re gonna trade in your workout for a glass of wine

& a night on the couch with Netflix.

If you go to a birthday party, or dinner with friends… and you decide to have a piece of cake or dessert….. and you have a shitty mindset, you’re gonna tell yourself that you’ve failed at losing weight, and that you might as well eat whatever you want because you’ve already “fcked up”

BUT…. having the right mindset – a positive, growth mindset – will allow you to:

==> manage stress in healthier ways

==> stop “all or nothing” thinking

==> become more successful at actually losing the weight without feeling deprived

So if you’ve been focused on your nutrition and movement.. that is GREAT! Keep it up.

But, don’t forget to train your brain, too.

Because there WILL be an instance (if there hasn’t been already) where your mindset is going to try and knock you off course…

Don’t let it.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Google “positive daily mantra” and find one that resonates with you.
  2. Write it down, and put it in a place where you’ll see it often. You can use several post-it notes and display it in multiple places.
  3. Read and SAY (yes, out loud) the mantra to yourself right when you wake up… BEFORE you look at your phone!
  4. Repeat….

This might not feel like much at first, but over time reading, saying, and hearing yourself say something positive will start to change the way your brain works.
