If you’re sick of seeing your belly hang over your pants when you sit down, this blog is for you!
Bottom line: You need to stop doing high reps of low weights in your workouts.
When you’re in a weight loss phase, you want to maximize fat loss and minimize muscle loss. Otherwise, you’re going to end up looking skinny fat, which nobody wants.
Doing higher reps of lower weight doesn’t accomplish those goals.
Instead, it just makes your workouts way longer than they need to be, and causes overall central nervous fatigue…. which means you’re not recovering from your workouts and future workouts are compromised.
For maximal fat loss, you want to stay in the low to moderate rep range (3 -7 reps) and use weights that are heavy enough for you to complete these rep ranges without feeling like you could do 5 more reps.
๐ช If the thought of picking up heavier weights scares the bejeezus out of you, that’s something we can help with. Shoot me an email: [email protected] with the word “STRONG” and we can chat…. I can’t wait to hear from you.
