Transforming Stress Into Self Care

It’s only Monday… but you probably have had a bunch of stress thrown on your plate already….

You might be counting down the moments until you can grab a beer 🍺 or glass of wine 🍷 when 5pm hits.

(cue Jimmy Buffett)

Here’s what I want you to understand about stress… because when it comes to your health, stress might be an even more dangerous, sneaky danger than potato chips or saturated fat.

it can lead to high blood pressure, increase risk of heart disease, promotes weight gain, leads to increased blood sugar, trigger digestive issues, and a whole lot more.

GROSS right?!

Unlike unhealthy foods, stress isn’t something you can avoid…. so you need to learn to manage it instead.

Enter (you guessed it): mindfulness.

Mindfulness can transform your immediate reactions to stress, so you don’t end up self-sabotaging your weight loss efforts or overall health picture.

A moment of pause can help you make healthier choices that serve your long-term well-being instead of impulsive short-term coping mechanisms.

✅ Instead of wine 🍷, you choose a bubble bath 🛀

✅ Instead of a whole day on the couch 🎥, you choose a walk 🚶‍♀️ or run 🏃🏻‍♀️

✅ Instead of using food, booze, and inactivity to self-soothe, you pick things more in line with your health and wellness.

💫 It might only be a 5-10 second pause, but that pause is CRITICAL for your overall success.

In fact, that 5-10 second pause & choice of something more healthful can be the difference between your blood pressure being within normal limits, or being so high you put yourself in danger.

The power of mindfulness shouldn’t be underestimated.. and if you want some support and guidance around how to use mindfulness to best support your mental, emotional, and physical well-being, just send me a message – [email protected]. This is my jammmmm!!!
