Of the thousands of people we’ve coached over the years, I can say there are a few super common themes for people who struggle to lose weight.
Here’s one of them:
If you are eating more than 20% of your weekly meals outside of the house, you are probably struggling to lose weight.
Now, you might balk at this statement (I encourage you to read on), or perhaps you totally agree.
Here’s where most people get stuck though..
You think it’s actually the seed oils preventing you from losing weight.
Or maybe you think its your hormones or cortisol levels.
Perhaps you think the pounds won’t fall off because you’re not eating organic foods, or you haven’t given up gluten.
A HIGHLY likely reason you can’t seem to lose weight is because you’re eating too many calories prepared by someone else.
In a restaurant, you can have the best of intentions but there could be hundreds of hidden calories that you never realize you eat, and don’t track…
Oil, butter, condiments, sauces are all used in abundance to give restaurant meals more flavor… and they’re not always listed on the menu.
Eating at home gives you the control over what goes into your foods and what doesn’t. You know exactly how much oil, butter, sauce, and condiments are being poured onto your meals and you can track them in accordance.
So if you’re struggling with your weight loss, take these 2 steps:
1) Take an assessment of what you’re eating and where…. what percentage of your meals are made at home, and what percentage are from a restaurant or take-out.
2) Adjust so that 80% of your meals are made at home, and then enjoy the 20% out. Give this new structure 6 weeks, and I can promise you’ll see some changes!
