The state of the world is so uncertain right now, and uncertainty creates fear.
Have you felt fearful of anything recently?
I know I sure have.
Will any of my family get sick?
Will my business survive this?
When will we go back to “normal?”
Will we sink into a huge economic depression?
There are certainly a lot of unknowns and “what if’s.”
I think it's perfectly normal to feel and think these things, especially in a time like this.
But what can get dangerous pretty quickly is creating a slippery slope of fear that creates anxiety and primal thinking.
This is exactly the mindset that has caused people to (unnecessarily) hoard toilet paper.
Uncertainty can be scary.
But it can also create tremendous opportunity.
For example- staying at home to practice social distancing doesn’t seem like the most fun or productive thing to do.
But, if you reframe it as a time when you’re not tempted to hit up the bars, restaurants, or given into the social pressures of your friends…. Then this becomes a perfect time to make progress toward your health and fitness goals.
Social distancing goes from being a negative thing to a positive and helpful thing.
It all comes down to changing the way you frame things and evolving the way you think.
Reframing and shifting your mindset from negative and fear-based to a more positive one can help to take the thoughts and feelings that might be spiraling and bring them back down to a realistic and palatable level.
Even this huge global pandemic will pass.
By this time next year, we WILL be gathering in groups again.
Life will go on.
Remember that.
And in the meantime, I personally challenge you to reframe as much of your fear-based thinking as you can.
Try and find positivity in your current state.
I’m here to help you in any way I can.
