Aside from these stats, I participated in my 1st multisport race (a Duathlon) since 2017 & came in 1st place overall for Females !!
I’ve always been a competitive person, and after 40 years on this Earth, my #1 competition is still myself.
Moving / exercise / sport has always been the way I manage stress & decompress. It’s also my religion, my sanity, & my comfort.
It’s been there for me to work through all of my emotions- from exhilaration to devastation.
I ENJOY it.
But it hasn’t always been easy or enjoyable.
I tried out for soccer & volleyball in high school and made neither team. I was upset, frustrated, and - quite frankly - embarrassed.
But I didn’t quit. I joined the track & Field team, and then the cross country team. I found a true love for running.
In college, I joined the rugby team & learned that I LOVED everything about it.
In my 20’s, I started running half marathons and then got into multisport.
I’ve battled injuries, setbacks, and disappointments.
It’s been quite a journey… the ups & downs, highs and lows. I wouldn’t trade a moment of it.
If you’re reading this, teetering on the edge of starting (or starting again), I implore you to do so.
Just take one step. Literally. I guarantee it will be the 1st step of a journey that will change your life.
