If you hate public speaking, you’d rather chew glass than have to give a talk in front of a room full of people.
If you hate exercise, you’ll make every justification in your mind that you can reach your fitness goals without needing any formal workout program.
If you hate heights, you’ll gladly volunteer to hold everyone’s stuff on the ground while they go on the tall roller-coasters, Eiffel Tower, or give skydiving a try.
We can all pretty much agree on this.
But is NO way to live your life…. And it certainly is a surefire way to lose out on living to your fullest potential.
What do I mean?
See, when you dislike something there’s a 99.9999% chance that you dislike it because you’re afraid of it.
Fear of something often manifests as dislike.
It’s much easier to say “I don’t like public speaking” rather than “I’m afraid to talk in front of more than 6 people.”
Living your life with a fear mindset (as opposed to an abundance mindset) is what stunts your growth, lessens your happiness, and diminishes your potential successes.
If you want to truly transform your life, you simply CANNOT live with a fear mindset.
Instead, the way to deal with the things you don’t like (aka the things you’re afraid of) is to throw yourself right into them.
If you hate public speaking, join a Toastmasters Club and do more public speaking.
If you hate exercise, sign up to work with a personal trainer 2-3x/week.
If you hate heights, go climb a mountain or grab a friend and ride on a roller-coaster.
Doing the thing you’re afraid of…. And surviving it ….. Will help boost your confidence to go and do it again.
The next time you do it, you’ll be at least 1% less scared (if not much less scared) and the confidence boost will be even more powerful.
This continues until you have erased the fear mindset from your life because you’ve conquered it.
Imagine how much more you’d accomplish and how much more truly happy you’d be if you no longer had to live your life boxed in by the fears that hold you down.
