She’s been with us a few years and has made some amazing progress (see pics below).
However, like most of us, the past year of COVID and all that came with it took a toll on her. She kept up with her training sessions but our monthly Coaching Calls took a big hiatus. Until 8 weeks ago. She scheduled a call & we had a really productive chat about the past year, the progress she felt so terrible about losing, and the goals she wanted to reach.
In short, she felt so awful about losing the progress she worked so hard to make...she felt defeated & frustrated. If you’re reading this, my guess is that you can relate to feeling like that at one point or another.
But the most important part is what comes next….
What comes after all of the feelings of frustration, embarrassment, or shame? You can either decide that those feelings will keep you from trying again. Or you can do what this amazing young woman did- pick up the phone and ask for help. She decided that she was more than just her failures or missteps. She decided that she wasn’t built to give up, and taking the next step forward was the way back to success.
So, on our call we also discussed a simple plan of action to get her back in the groove of healthy habits. Two 30 minute walks per week and limiting takeout meals to 1-2 x/week. She promised to consistently schedule Coaching Calls with me every 4 weeks to check in.
Well, it’s been 8 weeks and I cannot say how proud I am of the progress this young woman has made. The simple plan we set 8 weeks ago has now blossomed into healthy habits becoming reestablished in her life. Because we kept the plan simple, she has been able to stick to it & sometimes even go beyond the expectations. Most importantly, she feels better about herself- inside and out - than she did 8 short weeks ago.
So my question to you is: where were you 8 weeks ago?
Stuck in the same rut you are now? Feeling defeated, embarrassed, or frustrated with the way you look and feel? You have a choice to make today that will dictate where you’ll be in 8 weeks from now:
Give up, or get back at it.
If you choose the latter, and want some help, send me a message: [email protected] and let me know.
